One dead, others injured after pick up vehicle runs into NDC supporters

One person is reported dead with many others badly injured after a pickup vehicle reportedly run into supporters of the National Democratic Congress.

The accident is said to happened at Assin Dansame in the Central region where presidential candidate of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama is embarking on a campaign tour.

Reports indicate that the former president had to bring his campaign tour to a halt following the accident.

He has announced a decision to suspend his campaign to enable him visit the injured and commiseywitj the family of the bereaved.

Other reports indicate that the pickup vehicle was conveying journalist to cover John Mahama’s campaign but unfortunately lost control and run into another.

It has been confirmed that the deceased and the injured are members of the NDC.

“I have had to suspend my campaign in Assin North for about 2hrs, this afternoon, to visit injured sympathizers who were involved in an accident after our engagement at Dansame.

“Unfortunately, we lost one of our comrades who enthusiastically joined others to the program. Our condolences to her family. I will be leading the party to visit the family of the deceased to commiserate with them”, he indicated in a Facebook post
